his statement: "for Allāh"; meaning: sincerely for Him, is a strong witness to his saying: "not seeking to show off or for reputation." In its meaning is the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Whoever builds a mosque that Allāh sees; Allāh will build for him a house in Paradise..." the ḥadīth. It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" also (9/216/8471) through the route of ʿImrān ibn ʿUbayd Allāh - the client of ʿUbayd al-Ṣayd - who said: I heard al-Ḥakam ibn Abān narrating from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās... al-Haythamī said (2/8) about this ʿImrān: "al-Bukhārī mentioned him in his 'Tārīkh,' and said: 'There is a concern about him,' and Ibn Maʿīn also weakened him, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in (al-Thiqāt)." And he said in the extraction of the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah that preceded it: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' - in brief - and in it is Kathīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh, weakened by al-ʿUqaylī, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in (al-Thiqāt)."
