from the copyist, and this is supported by the statement of al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (7/278): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and in it is ʿĪsá ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī (sic) Furwah, and he is abandoned." Thus it occurred with the addition; (Abī), so perhaps it is also from the copyists. Then I found supporting evidence for the ḥadīth indicating its authenticity, which obliges us to include it in "al-Ṣaḥīḥah". Imām Aḥmad said (5/241): Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us from al-Ḥārith ibn Yazīd from ʿUlayy ibn Rabāḥ from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ from Muʿādh who said; the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entrusted us with: "Five, whoever does them is guaranteed by Allāh..." He mentioned the aforementioned traits except the fourth, which has come in another path that I will mention soon, if Allāh wills. And this isnād is authentic; its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim; except that he did not narrate from Ibn Lahīʿah except in conjunction, due to his known poor memory, yet this is secure here because the narration of Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd from him is authentic, as has been explained repeatedly. Al-Ṭabarānī also narrated it in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (20/37-38) through other paths from Ibn Lahīʿah with it. And he was followed by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with the wording: "Whoever strives in the path of Allāh; is guaranteed by Allāh..." the ḥadīth, mentioning the rest of the traits except the second: the trait of the funeral. It was narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1495), and through him by Ibn Ḥibbān (1595), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (9/166-167), and also by al-Ṭabarānī (20/37/54), and al-Ḥākim
