- "Be modest, for Allāh is not shy of the truth. Do not approach women from behind." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (5/322/9009), al-Bazzār in his "Musnad" "al-Baḥr al-Zakhkhār" (1/474/339), al-Kharāʾiṭī in "Masāwīʾ al-Akhlāq" (902-021/466-467), and Abū Yaʿlá in "al-Musnad al-Kabīr" (2/344/779 - al-Maqṣad al-ʿAlī) from ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān from Zamaʿah ibn Ṣāliḥ from Ibn Ṭāwūs [from his father] from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Hād from ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it, with the addition from al-Kharāʾiṭī, and there is another difference that is lengthy to mention, including that al-Nasāʾī mentioned in its place: (from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār). This difference may be from (ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān), as Ibn Ḥibbān said in "al-Thiqāt" (8/450): "He sometimes errs." Or it is from (Zamaʿah ibn Ṣāliḥ); for he is weak as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb" and elsewhere, so attributing the weakness to him is more appropriate, and there were other discrepancies regarding him; mentioned by al-Dāraquṭnī in "al-ʿIlal" (2/166-167), who said: "The statement of ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān is the most authentic of them. And Allāh knows best." I said: But there was also a difference regarding him in it, and al-Dāraquṭnī except for the second version which includes the addition [from his father]!
- (استحيُوا, فإن الله لا يستحي من الحق، لا تأتوا النساءفي أدبارهن). أخرجه النسائي في "السنن الكبرى" (٥/٣٢٢/٩٠٠٩) ، والبزار في مسنده" البحر الزخار" (١/ ٤٧٤/٣٣٩) ، والخرائطي في "مساوئ الأخلاق" (٩ ٠ ٢- ٠ ٢١/ ٤٦٦- ٤٦٧) ، وأبو يعلى في "المسند الكبير" (٢/٣٤٤/٧٧٩- المقصد العلي) عن عثمان بن اليمان عن زمعة بن صالح عن ابن طاوس [عن أبيه] عن عبد الله بن الهاد عن عمر ﵁ قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: ... فذكره، والزيادة للخرائطي، وفيه خلاف أخر يطول ذكره، منه أن النسائي ذكر مكانها: (عن عمرو ابن دينار). وهذا الاختلاف يحتمل أنه من (عثمان بن اليمان) ، فقد قال ابن حبان في "الثقات " (٨/ ٤٥٠) :"ربما أخطأ". أو هو من (زمعة بن صالح) ؛ فإنه ضعيف كما في "التقريب " وغيره، فإعلاله به أولى، وقد اختلف عليه بوجوه أخرى؛ ذكرها الدارقطني في "العلل " (٢/١٦٦- ١٦٧) ، وقال:"وقول عثمان بن اليمان أصحها. والله أعلم ". قلت: لكن اختلف عليه فيه أيضاً، والدارقطني إلا الوجه الثاني الذي فيه زيادة [عن أبيه] !
