this is another aspect of the disagreement; for Mūsá al-Juhanī: is the son of ʿAbd Allāh, and it is said: the son of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Abū Salamah, and it is said: Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Kūfī; thus, he is different from Mūsá al-Ṣaghīr, and yet they mentioned that he narrated from ʿAwn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah, and from him, Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd! It was also produced by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/269) through the route of Ibn Abī Shaybah, Aḥmad, and others from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr, who said: from Mūsá ibn Muslim with it. He said: "It is rare from the ḥadīth of ʿAwn, uniquely narrated by Mūsá, who is Abū ʿĪsá Mūsá ibn Muslim al-Ṭaḥḥān, known as (al-Ṣaghīr)." I said: So what is in the narration of al-Ṭabarānī that it is (Mūsá al-Juhanī) is anomalous due to its contradiction with what is in "al-Muṣannaf" and the narration of Abū Nuʿaym from him, as well as the narration of Aḥmad. And Allāh knows best. There is a more severe disagreement; which resulted in the weakening of the ḥadīth, as it was produced by al-Ḥākim (1/500): ʿAlī ibn Ḥamshādh al-ʿAdl narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsá ibn al-Sakan narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr narrated to us: my father narrated to us: Mūsá ibn Sālim narrated from ʿAwn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah from his father with it. He said: "The isnād is authentic"! It was refuted by al-Dhahabī who said: "I said: Mūsá ibn Sālim; Abū Ḥātim said: his ḥadīth is rejected"! Ibn al-Mulaqqin transmitted it in his "Mukhtaṣar" (1/387) and affirmed it as is his habit!
