It was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2044) through the route of Ibrāhīm ibn Bashshār al-Ramādī who reported from Sufyān. There were some typographical errors in its isnād. This is a severe and strange inconsistency, for while in the first narration Saʿīd al-Aʿshá is the teacher of Sahl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ and the narrator from Ayyūb ibn Bashīr, in the other narration we find him as the teacher of Ayyūb ibn Bashīr and the narrator from Abū Saʿīd. Moreover, he is unknown and only Ibn Ḥibbān has authenticated him, which is why al-Tirmidhī weakened it by saying: "A strange ḥadīth."
