a gift of a silk garment was presented to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... the ḥadīth without the sentence. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (6/15/5347) through the route of Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Zīrīq: narrated to us ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith: narrated to us ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim from al-Zubaydī from him. al-Bukhārī referenced it after the ḥadīth of al-Barāʾ, which will be indicated, saying (3802): "It was narrated by Qatādah and al-Zuhrī who heard Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." al-Ḥāfiẓ said (7/123) - followed by al-ʿAynī in "al-ʿUmdah" (16/267) -: "As for the narration of Qatādah, the author connected it in (al-Hibah), and as for the narration of al-Zuhrī, he connected it in (al-Libās)." I say: As for the narration of Qatādah, it is the one previously mentioned from the narration of Shaybān from him. As for the narration of al-Zuhrī, al-Bukhārī did not connect it; rather, he also referenced it in (al-Libās) saying under (26- Chapter on Touching Silk Without Wearing It): "And it is narrated therein from al-Zubaydī from al-Zuhrī from Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." So the statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ: "he connected it in (al-Libās)" is an error (1), perhaps a slip of the pen, the correct version is: "its connection comes in (al-Libās)"; for he connected it there from the narration of al-Ṭabarānī mentioned, and commented on it saying (10/291): "al-Dāraqutnī said in 'al-Afrād': No one narrated it from al-Zubaydī except ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim."
