Saʿd said: and I had left my brother ʿUmayr performing ablution, so I said: It is ʿUmayr, then ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām came and ate it. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (9/148/7120), al-Ḥākim (3/416), Aḥmad (1/169), and al-Bazzār in "al-Baḥr" (3/355/1156), and Abū Yaʿlá (2/75/721 and 98/754) through the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah and others from him. Al-Bazzār said: We do not know anyone who narrated it from Muṣʿab ibn Saʿd except ʿĀṣim, and more than one person narrated it from ʿĀṣim. I said: ʿĀṣim's memory is criticized, but the settled opinion of the scholars is that his ḥadīth is acceptable if he does not contradict [others]. If his memory is reliable, then the ḥadīth is good, and the story might have been repeated, as Muṣʿab narrated it from his father, and his sister ʿĀʾishah narrated a similar account from their father. The isnād of her brother was authenticated by al-Ḥākim and al-Dhahabī. And Allāh knows best. *

- (None will show kindness to you after me except the truthful and patient ones). It was recorded by al-Bazzār in "his Musnad" (3/210/2590- Kashf): ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shabīb narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Ṭalḥah al-Ṭawīl narrated from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah who said: ... ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: ... and he mentioned it. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: So I sold something to ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿd ibn Abī Sarḥ—he named it—for forty thousand, and I distributed it among them—meaning: among the wives of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and may Allāh have mercy on them. Al-Bazzār said: It was narrated from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from another route, and we do not know it to be narrated from him from a better route than this
