and this is supported by a narration in Aḥmad (3/271) from ʿAffān: Ḥumayd narrated to us: Thābit and Ḥumayd informed us from Anas ibn Mālik ... and he mentioned the same story of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām. This isnād combines the narration of Thābit—the first—and the narration of Ḥumayd—the second—in a single context. It was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (7423), Abū Yaʿlá (3414), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Dalāʾil" (p. 300) through the path of Ḥammād, with this isnād. There is also a corroborating narration from Thawbān: narrated by Muslim (1/173) — within a story — with the wording: ... the Jew said: What is their gift when they enter Paradise? He said: "The extra piece of the liver of the whale." (Note): al-Bukhārī commented in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (11/415) on the wording of the ḥadīth of the chapter, saying: "Abū Saʿīd said: The Prophet ﷺ said: 'The first food the people of Paradise will eat is the extra piece of the liver of a whale.'" al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said in "Taghlīq al-Taʿlīq" (5/184): "This is a part of the ḥadīth of intercession, and the author has narrated it in full in (al-Tawḥīd), and also in the description of Paradise in (Badʾ al-Khalq)." I said: It is not in any of these places!
