but the ḥadīth is authentic with its corroboration: it was narrated by Muslim from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, and it is included in my commentary on "al-Ṭaḥāwiyyah" (504). *
(The first thing the people of Paradise will eat is the extra liver of the fish). It was narrated by al-Ṭayālisī (2051), and through his route: Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (6/252) said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us from Thābit from Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): ... and he mentioned it. This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. It was also reported through the route of Ḥumayd from Anas—within the story of the conversion of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām—may Allāh be pleased with him—and it includes his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "... and as for the first food the people of Paradise will eat; it is the extra liver of the fish ...". It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (3329, 3938, and 4480), Ibn Ḥibbān (7161), al-Nasāʾī in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (9074), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (13/125), Abū Nuʿaym in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (336), Aḥmad (3/108 and 891), al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (3769), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Dalāʾil" (2/528-529), and Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (3856) from the routes of Ḥumayd: Anas narrated to us that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām heard of the arrival of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in Medina, so he came to him asking about certain things ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth in full. It appears to me that the first ḥadīth of Anas is the same as this ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām, but Ibn Salām was not mentioned in it previously—as is known from the trust the Companions had in each other in narration
