al-Bukhārī also narrated it in "al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr" (1/1/408) through the chain of al-Zubaydī from al-Zuhrī from Ayūb ibn Bashīr al-Anṣārī from ʿAbbād ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr from ʿĀʾishah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). And Allāh, the Exalted, knows best. *

This isnād is weak; Faḍāl ibn Jubayr was weakened by Abū Ḥātim al-Rāzī, as mentioned in "al-Mīzān." Ibn Ḥibbān said: "It is not permissible to use him as evidence in any case." al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/9): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ,' and in it is Faḍālah ibn Jubayr, and this ḥadīth was rejected!" I say: As for it being in "al-Awsaṭ," it is not; perhaps what al-Haythamī has is an error or a misreading! And Faḍālah: a misreading of Faḍāl mentioned! And his statement: "and this ḥadīth was rejected"; perhaps it is a reference to Ibn ʿAdī's treatment of this ḥadīth as one of the rejected narrations of this Faḍāl
