and in this ḥadīth, there is an important benefit that has been overlooked by most of the fiqh books, which is the legitimacy of informing a disbeliever of the Hellfire if one passes by his grave. It is evident that this legislation serves to awaken the believer and remind him of the gravity of the crime committed by this disbeliever, who has committed a sin so great that all the sins of the world combined pale in comparison, which is disbelief in Allāh and associating partners with Him. Allāh Almighty has clearly expressed His severe displeasure with it when He excluded it from forgiveness, saying: "Indeed, Allāh does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills" (Sūrah al-Nisāʾ, verse 48). For this reason, the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "The greatest of the major sins is to set up a partner with Allāh while He has created you." Agreed upon. Ignorance of this benefit has led some Muslims to act contrary to what the wise Lawgiver intended from it. We know that many Muslims travel to lands of disbelief for personal or public interests, and not only do they do this, but they also visit the graves of those they call great men among the disbelievers, placing flowers and wreaths on their graves and standing before them in reverence and sorrow. This behavior indicates their approval of them and lack of disdain for them, whereas the good example set by the prophets dictates otherwise, as demonstrated in this authentic ḥadīth. Listen to the words of Allāh: "There has already been for you an excellent example in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, 'Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allāh. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever'" (Sūrah al-Mumtaḥanah, verse 4)
