Ḥasan ibn Ṣāliḥ said: The Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) foot was struck by a stone, causing it to bleed, and he said ... the ḥadīth. Recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (1707), and its chain is authentic. They were followed—in brief—by: Shuʿbah; with Aḥmad (4/312), al-Rūyānī (164/2), and al-Ṭabarānī (1704). And ʿAlī ibn Ṣāliḥ—the brother of Ḥasan ibn Ṣāliḥ—also with al-Ṭabarānī (1706). ʿUmar ibn Ziyād al-Hilālī said: The Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) finger was struck by a tree (sic) causing it to bleed, and he said: ... and he mentioned it, adding: He was carried and placed on a bed woven with palm leaves or a strap, and a cushion made of leather stuffed with palm fibers was placed under his head, leaving a mark on his side. Then ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb came and wept, and he said: "What makes you weep?" He replied: O Messenger of Allāh! Kisra and Caesar sit on thrones of gold, wearing silk and brocade! He said: "Are you not pleased that they have the world and you have the Hereafter?!" Narrated by al-Ṭabarānī (1719), and Ibn Saʿd (1/466). I say: This addition is false, and its defect—along with contradicting previous narrations—is this al-Hilālī, about whom al-Bukhārī said in "al-Tārīkh" (6/156/2012): "He is known and unknown."
