I said: meaning the narration of the two Shaykhs from the route of Yūnus from Ibn Shihāb: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh told me that his father ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah wrote to ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Arqam al-Zuhrī, instructing him to visit Sabiʿah bint al-Ḥārith al-Aslamiyyah and ask her about her ḥadīth and what the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to her when she consulted him. ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd Allāh wrote to ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah informing him that Sabiʿah told him that she... I said: then he mentioned the ḥadīth in more detail, but it does not include his statement: "Abū al-Sanābil lied," and it is documented in "Jilbāb al-Marʾah al-Muslimah" (p. 69) and in "al-Irwāʾ" (7/192) from another route. Then al-Bayhaqī narrated it (10/709) from the route of Muḥammad, and Aḥmad (1/447) from the route of Khallās, both from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah: that Sabiʿah bint al-Ḥārith delivered... the ḥadīth. Al-Bayhaqī said: "This is a good mursal narration, and it has supporting evidences." And Muḥammad: he is Ibn Sīrīn, narrated by al-Bayhaqī from the route of Ayyūb from him. Manṣūr followed him from Ibn Sīrīn, but he said: that Sabiʿah... the ḥadīth, and he did not mention (ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah) in its isnād. Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr also narrated it (1508). Its isnād is also mursal and authentic. It has another supporting evidence from the mursal of al-Ḥasan, who is al-Baṣrī. ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd narrated it; as in "al-Durr al-Manthūr" (6/236). Among its supporting evidences is the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd that Sabiʿah bint al-Ḥārith delivered..
