"It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with a good and strong isnād." And al-Haythamī said (8/276): "... and its narrators are those of the authentic [collections], except for al-Muʿāfá ibn Sulaymān, and he is trustworthy." The ḥadīth is in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" attributed to (Hab), and I think it is a distortion from (Ṭab). And Allāh knows best. *

"Abū al-Sanābil lied; it is not as he said, you have become lawful, so marry; [if someone comes to you whom you are pleased with, come to me, or inform me]." He said this to Subayʿah bint al-Ḥārith; she had given birth a few days after her husband's death. It was narrated by Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr in "Sunan" (2/350/1506): Sufyān narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh [ibn ʿUtbah] from his father: that Subayʿah bint al-Ḥārith became pure from her postpartum bleeding a few days after her husband's death, and Abū al-Sanābil passed by her and said: "You are not lawful until you wait for four months and ten days." She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he said: and he mentioned it without the addition. Similarly, it was narrated by al-Shāfiʿī in "al-Umm" (5/206): Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it to us with it; except that he added (or), saying: "Or is it not..." And likewise, it was narrated by al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (7/429), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (9/304/2388), and "al-Tafsīr" (8/153), and al-Bayhaqī said: "And this narration is mursal, and what precedes it of the connected [narration] is sufficient."
