"Ṣāliḥ transmits." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (9/102), and al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Trustworthy." This al-Ḥarrānī has been corroborated; al-Ṭabarānī said in "al-Awsaṭ" (1683): Aḥmad (who is al-Nasāʾī) told us, he said: Abū al-Muʿāfā Muḥammad ibn Wahb ibn Abī Karīmah al-Ḥarrānī told us, he said: Muḥammad ibn Salamah narrated it to us. This is a strong corroboration. As for the supporting narration, it is reported by Hāshim ibn ʿĪsá al-Yazani, who said: al-Ḥārith ibn Muslim narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from Anas ibn Mālik as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Al-Ṭabarānī recorded it in "al-Awsaṭ" (5159) and said: "No one narrated it from al-Ḥārith except Hāshim ibn ʿĪsá." I said: al-ʿUqaylī said (4/343): "His ḥadīth are objectionable, unknown in transmission." Then he presented another ḥadīth for him with a different isnād regarding placing the hand under the cheek during sleep; he added: "This is the sleep of the prophets." ... Al-Dhahabī transmitted this from him in "al-Mīzān," and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Lisān," and they both affirmed it. Al-Haythamī did not recognize him, so he said in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/355): "Al-Ṭabarānī narrated it in 'al-Awsaṭ,' and in it is Hāshim ibn ʿĪsá al-Yazani, and I do not know him."
