and the rest of its narrators were considered reliable, despite some weakness in some of them." The ḥadīth of the chapter was attributed by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (5/101) to al-Tirmidhī, and he remained silent about it, indicating its authenticity according to him, perhaps due to the corroborating evidence I mentioned. - "The Hour will not be established until people are showered with rain, from which neither the houses of clay nor the houses of hair will provide shelter." It was narrated by Aḥmad (2/262): Abū Kāmil and ʿAffān told us, they said: Ḥammād narrated from Suhayl—ʿAffān said in his ḥadīth: "I am Suhayl"—from Abū Ṣāliḥ from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. It was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/270/6732- al-Iḥsān) through the route of Abū Yaʿlá who said: Bassām ibn Yazīd al-Naqqāl narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated it. I say: And Bassām al-Naqqāl; Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/155), and said: "The people of Iraq narrated from him." I say: Among them are al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Baghawī and others; as in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (7/127), and it was narrated from al-Azdī that he said: "The people of Iraq criticize him." Al-Dhahabī said after him: "I say: He is moderate in narration."
