Fifth: from Muṣʿab ibn al-Muqaddam who said: Saʿīd ibn Bashīr narrated to us from Qatādah from Sulaymān ibn Yasār from him. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/248/1/4285/2) (5/78/4139-ṭ), and he said: "No one narrated it from Saʿīd except Muṣʿab." I said: Both of them are weak. There is supporting evidence for the ḥadīth from the narration of Abū Mūsá al-Ashʿarī, mentioned earlier under number (1280). (Note): Despite the numerous chains of this ḥadīth in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim" and others, the commentator on "al-Iḥsān" (14/66-67) attributed it only to "al-Awsaṭ of al-Ṭabarānī"! And through "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (7/289)! *

"Indeed, the soul meets the soul (in another narration: sit and prostrate and do as you saw)." He said this to Khuzaymah ibn Thābit. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (4/384/7631), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (11/78/10564), Aḥmad (5/214 and 215), Ibn Saʿd (4/380-381), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (4/97/3717) through the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah: Abū Jaʿfar al-Khaṭmī narrated to us from ʿUmārah ibn Khuzaymah ibn Thābit: that his father said: I saw in a dream as if I was prostrating on the forehead of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), so I informed the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about that, and he said... and he mentioned it, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) nodded like this—[ʿAffān said with his head backward]—so he placed his forehead on the forehead of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)
