(Benefit): Abū Yaʿlá added—after his statement: "And you will have what you intended"—then said: "You ask me about the Hour? By the One in Whose hand is my soul! There is no living soul on earth today that will reach one hundred years." He said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prayed, then said: "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" The man was brought, trembling, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) looked at a young boy from the tribe of Daws, named Saʿd, and said: "If this one lives, he will not grow old until the Hour is established." Anas said: And at that time, I was about the age of the boy. And with Aḥmad, the incident of the prayer and his statement: "Where is the one who asked..." etc. Ibn Ḥibbān included it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1/387/565 and 4/280/2979) in two separate places through the route of Abū Yaʿlá. It was also recorded by Muslim (8/209), Ibn Ḥibbān (1/387/566), Aḥmad (3/428), and Abū Yaʿlá (3277) through the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Anas. The last sentence—the sentence about growing old—was recorded by al-Bukhārī (6167), and also by Muslim, and Aḥmad (3/192) through the route of Qatādah from Anas. Then Muslim narrated it from two other routes from Anas.
