in the past; I saw that the author attributed it (5017) to al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān," and at that time, I was unable to review its isnād even from other sources, so I left it blank and attributed it only to Abū Dāwūd. Now, I have reviewed its isnād with ʿAbd al-Razzāq, so I extracted it. Then I found a supporting narration for the ḥadīth of Thābit from Anas from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar who said: While I was sitting with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), a man came to him, greeted him, and then left. I said: O Messenger of Allāh! I love this man for the sake of Allāh. He said: "Have you informed him of that?" I said: No. He said: "Inform your brother of that." He said: So I followed him, caught up with him, took him by the shoulder, greeted him, and said: By Allāh! I love you for the sake of Allāh. He said: By Allāh, I love you for the sake of Allāh. I said: If the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) had not commanded me to inform you, I would not have done so. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1/388/568), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (12/366/13361) through the route of al-Azraq ibn ʿAlī Abū al-Jahm who said: Ḥassān ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying: Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad narrated to us from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar and Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah from Nāfiʿ who said: I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: ... and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is good, its men are trustworthy, and regarding Ḥassān—who is al-Karmānī—and Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad, there is some discussion that does not harm here. Al-Haythamī said (10/282): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and 'al-Awsaṭ,' and their men are the men of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ,' except for al-Azraq ibn ʿAlī and Ḥassān ibn Ibrāhīm, and both are trustworthy."
