Among them: from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah that a Bedouin appeared before the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... the ḥadīth is like the ḥadīth of the chapter: It was recorded by Ḥusayn ibn Ḥasan al-Marwazī in "al-Birr wa-al-Ṣilah" (31/156 - manuscript) who said: ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Thaqafī informed us saying: Ayyūb narrated it from him. - (Are you not pleased that I should be your father, and ʿĀʾishah your mother? He said this to Bishr ibn ʿAqrabah when he cried over his father's martyrdom). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (1/2/78) and through him: Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (3/377): ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn ʿAṭāʾ said to me: Ḥujr ibn al-Ḥārith al-Ghassānī narrated to us saying: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAwf al-Qārīʾ say: I heard Bishr ibn ʿAqrabah say: My father was martyred with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in one of his battles, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by me while I was crying, so he said to me: "Be quiet, are you not pleased ... " the ḥadīth. Then Ibn ʿAsākir recorded it through another route from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān, but he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn ʿAṭāʾ with it; without saying: "Be quiet," and instead mentioned: "O beloved! What makes you cry? Are you not pleased ... "
