and there is another discrepancy from this Yūnus or from someone below him—and he is more likely—; al-Bazzār said in "Musnad" (2/357/1847): ʿAlī ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Fuḍayl narrated to us: Yūnus ibn ʿAmr—who is Yūnus ibn Abī Isḥāq—narrated from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jābir from the nephew of Saʿd ibn Mālik from Saʿd, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording mentioned earlier. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it to be narrated from Saʿd except with this isnād, and we do not know anyone who narrated from ʿAbd Allāh except Yūnus ibn ʿAmr"! I said: That is what he said! It appears to me that he is the one mentioned in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (5/18): "ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Anṣārī al-Madanī, the brother of Muḥammad and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, the sons of Jābir. Saʿīd al-Maqburī narrated from him." Similarly in "Tārīkh al-Bukhārī" and the book of Ibn Abī Ḥātim, and they did not mention any criticism or endorsement about him. However, mentioning him in this isnād seems to be another error by Yūnus al-Sabīʿī, as well as attributing the ḥadīth to the Musnad of (Saʿd ibn Mālik)—who is: Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ—when it is actually from the Musnad of his brother: (Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUtbah ibn Abī Waqqāṣ) due to the aforementioned paths and the corroboration of Simāk, and al-Ḥāfiẓ attributed it in "al-Iṣābah" to Ibn ʿAsākir! This is what was corrected by al-Baghawī and Ibn al-Sakan, as al-Ḥāfiẓ mentioned in the biography of (Hāshim) this. (Note): The esteemed brother Abū Isḥāq al-Ḥuwaynī, in his commentary on "Musnad Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ" (240/159), attributed the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jābir to Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Aḥād"! This is an error, as he only has the ḥadīth of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr as previously mentioned.
