from the signs of his prophethood (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)

"now (in another narration: today) we attack them (meaning: the polytheists of Mecca who were defeated in the Battle of the Trench) and they do not attack us, [we march to them]." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (4109 and 4110), al-Tayālisī (1289), Aḥmad (4/262), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (7/115/6484 and 6485), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/345 and 7/135), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Dalāʾil" (3/457-458) through a chain from among them Sufyān and Shuʿbah from Abū Isḥāq who said: I heard Sulaymān ibn Ṣurad say: I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) when the confederates [meaning the day of the trench] were driven away from him. The context is from al-Bukhārī with the first addition, which is also for al-Bayhaqī, and the last addition is for Aḥmad, and the second narration is for al-Ṭabarānī and it is from the path of Shuʿbah. Abū Nuʿaym said after the ḥadīth: "It is well-known from the narration of al-Thawrī; authentic and sound." I say: It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, narrated by ʿUbaydah ibn al-Aswad from Mujālid from ʿĀmir from him. This chain is good in supporting narrations, ʿUbaydah is reliable though he may conceal, and Mujālid—who is Ibn Saʿīd—is not strong, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb" by al-Ḥāfiẓ, yet he asserted in "al-Fatḥ" (7/405) the goodness of its chain! In it is what I mentioned and what follows, for al-Bazzār said after it: "There is a disagreement in its chain; it was narrated by Zakarīyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah from al-Shaʿbī from al-Ḥārith ibn al-Barṣāʾ. And Mujālid said: from al-Shaʿbī from Jābir."
