we were sitting with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ had gone to put on his clothes to catch up with me. While we were with him, he said: ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth. By Allāh! I remained anxious, looking in and out until so-and-so entered: al-Ḥakam [ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ]. The addition is from al-Bazzār, who said: "We do not know it with this wording except from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with this isnād." I said: And it is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād according to the criteria of Muslim, and al-Haythamī said (5/241): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, al-Bazzār, and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and the men of Aḥmad are the men of (the ṣaḥīḥ)." It has two strong supporting witnesses cited by al-Bazzār: one of them is from the path of al-Shaʿbī who said: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr say—while leaning against the Kaʿbah—: By the Lord of this House! Allāh has cursed al-Ḥakam—and his progeny—on the tongue of His Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). And al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it from Ibn al-Zubayr except with this isnād." I said: And it is also a ṣaḥīḥ isnād, all its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs; except for the Shaykh of al-Bazzār (Aḥmad ibn Manṣūr ibn Sayyār), who is trustworthy, and he did not narrate it alone as indicated by the complete statement of al-Bazzār: "And it was also narrated by Muḥammad ibn Fuḍayl from Ismāʿīl from al-Shaʿbī from Ibn al-Zubayr." Therefore, al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Dhahabī, despite his caution which I will mention, could not but declare in "Tārīkh al-Islām" (2/57) by saying:
كنا جلوساً عند النبي ﷺ، وقد ذهب عمرو بن العاص يلبس ثيابه ليلحقني، فقال ونحن عنده: ... فذكر الحديث، فوالله! ما زلت وجلاً أتشوَّف داخلاً وخارجاً حتى دخل فلان: الحكم [بن أبي العاصي] . والزيادة للبزار، وقال:"لا نعلمه بهذا اللفظ إلا عن عبد الله بن عمرو بهذا الإسناد". قلت: وهو إسناد صحيح على شرط مسلم، وقال الهيثمي (٥/ ٢٤١) :"رواه أحمد والبزار والطبراني في" الأ وسط "، ورجال أحمد رجال (الصحيح) ". وله شاهدان قويَّان ساقهما البزار: أحدهما: من طريق الشعبي قال: سمعت عبد الله بن الزبير يقول- وهو مستند إلى الكعبة-: وربّ هذا البيت! لقد لعن الله الحكم- وما ولد- على لسان نبيه ﷺ. وقال البزار:"لا نعلمه عن ابن الزبير إلا بهذا الإسناد". قلت: وهو إسناد صحيح أيضاً، رجاله كلهم ثقات رجال الشيخين؛ غير شيخ البزار (أحمد بن منصور بن سيّار) ، وهو ثقة، ولم يتفرد به كما يشعر بذلك تمام كلام البزار:"ورواه محمد بن فُضيل أيضاً عن إسماعيل عن الشعبي عن ابن الزبير". ولذلك لم يسع الحافط الذهبي- مع تحفظه الذي سأذكره- إلا أن يصرِّح في "تاريخ الإسلام " (٢/٥٧) بقوله:
