Aḥmad said (6/201): ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, saying: Ibn Jurayj narrated to me, saying: and ʿAṭāʾ claimed that ʿĀʾishah said (and he mentioned it). I said: From whom do you transmit this? He said: I do not know; I thought I heard ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr say that. Abū ʿĀṣim corroborated him from Ibn Jurayj from ʿAṭāʾ, saying: I think ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr narrated to me from ʿĀʾishah. It was recorded by Ibn Jarīr. Sufyān also corroborated it from ʿAmr from ʿAṭāʾ from ʿĀʾishah. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (6/41), Ibn Jarīr, and al-Tirmidhī (4321) - who said: "ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ" - and also by al-Nasāʾī, and it was left unremarked in "al-Fatḥ" (8/526). The ḥadīth has two supporting narrations: one from the narration of al-Mughīrah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥizāmī from Abū al-Naḍr, the client of ʿUmar, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb ibn Zamʿah from Umm Salamah, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) did not pass away until Allāh permitted him to marry any women he wished, except those who were prohibited. It was recorded by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in "al-Tafsīr" as in "Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr" (3/500), and there were typographical errors in the isnād. It is a good isnād. It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd (8/194) through the route of Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar al-Wāqidī from Burdān ibn Abī al-Naḍr from his father with it.
