- (Regarding His saying, the Exalted: "That is more likely that you will not commit injustice"), he said: "That you will not act unjustly." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (no. 1730 - al-Mawārid), and by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in "al-Tafsīr" (2/104/2) through various chains from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm: Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb narrated to us from ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad al-ʿUmari from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) regarding His saying... Ibn Abī Ḥātim said: "My father said: This is an erroneous ḥadīth, and the correct version from ʿĀʾishah is mawqūf [stopped at her]!" I said: So he said! Yet the heart is not at ease with this error claim; for all the men in the isnād are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], except for ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm—who is Abū Saʿīd al-Dimashqī, the ḥāfiẓ nicknamed (Duḥaym)—about whom al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "A trustworthy, precise ḥāfiẓ." And except for Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb—who is Ibn Shābūr al-Dimashqī—who is unanimously considered trustworthy, and he is not Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb the narrator from Dāwūd ibn ʿAlī al-Hāshimī the emir—who is unknown—as mentioned in "al-Mīzān," then Ibn Shābūr was mentioned after this, and it was said about him: ".. well-known, and I do not know—by Allāh!—any fault in him." He was described in "al-Siyar" (9/376) at the beginning of his biography as: "The imām, the muḥaddith, the knowledgeable, the truthful..." and it concluded with: "He was an imām, a seeker of knowledge."
