I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say to him: "You will not die until the rebellious group kills you, you will drink a drink of milk that will be your last provision from this world." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/391), and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (8/274-275), and al-Ḥākim said: "A sound and elevated ḥadīth." So he said! And al-Dhahabī agreed with him on its authenticity, and Ḥabbah al-ʿUrnī; most scholars consider it weak, and Ibn Ḥibbān contradicted himself on it, so see our commentary on his biography in my book "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ," may Allāh facilitate its completion for me. And Muslim ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Aʿwar; it appeared in "al-Mustadrak" as: (ibn ʿAbd Allāh), and the correct is (Abū ʿAbd Allāh); for this is his kunyah, and his father's name is (Kaysān), so he is (Abū ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kaysān), and he is unanimously considered weak, and therefore al-Dhahabī said in "al-Kāshif": "worthless." Perhaps the mentioned authenticity is only for its preceding chains, and therefore al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (9/297): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Muslim ibn Kaysān al-Aʿwar, and he is weak." And the other witness: it is narrated by Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Abī al-Rajāʾ al-Hāshimī: Thana Abū Maʿshar: Thana Jaʿfar ibn ʿAmr al-Ḍamrī from Abū Sinān al-Dūlī - a Companion of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) - who said: I saw ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir call for a drink, so he was brought a cup of milk and drank from it, then said:
