and Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥārith—who is Ibn Sufyān al-Makhzūmī al-Makkī—was mentioned by Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" (7/407-408) with the narration of two trustworthy people from him: Ibn Jurayj—here—is one of them, and the other is Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah. Three other trustworthy narrators also narrated from him, named in "al-Tahdhīb." Thus, he is trustworthy—if Allāh wills. Therefore, the statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ about him in "al-Taqrīb": "acceptable"! is not acceptable; because what is known from him in similar cases is that he says: "truthful." Likewise, al-Dhahabī does in "al-Kāshif"; except that he did not translate for him there because he is not among the men of the six [canonical collections], but al-Bukhārī narrated from him in "al-Adab al-Mufrad," and al-Haythamī declared him trustworthy, saying after the ḥadīth (7/327): ".. and its men are the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ, except for Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Sufyān, and he is trustworthy"! Thus it is in it, he did not mention the source of the ḥadīth at the two dots, and they are from me, and it appears that what is missing is: "narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in (al-Awsaṭ)." I missed quoting his statement in the first path (7/324-325): "narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ,' and in it is Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Wālibah; I did not know him, and the rest of its men are trustworthy"! Thus he said! And he missed that he is translated in the three books, including "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān"! Then, the discussion remains on the biography of al-Ṭabarānī's shaykh in the other path, who is Aḥmad ibn Bashīr al-Ṭayālisī Abū Ayyūb, he said in "al-Lisān":
