"al-Dāraquṭnī considered him weak... Ibn al-Munādī said: People wrote from him. And Aḥmad ibn Kāmil said: ... He had little knowledge of ḥadīth, and there was no criticism of his hearing." It is most likely that he is the one mentioned in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (4/54), but it appears as "Bashar" instead of "Bashīr," and similarly in the isnād of another ḥadīth in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (no. 86 - al-Rawḍ), but in "al-Awsaṭ" for this ḥadīth and others, it is "Bashīr"; it seems that this is correct. In summary, the ḥadīth is authentic through the combination of the two paths, if not authentic, then at least ḥasan through the other path. The ḥāfiẓ indicated this by remaining silent about it, and he presented it through its two paths in "al-Fatḥ" (13/15). Furthermore, part of it is supported by a ḥadīth from Ibn ʿAmr with the wording: "Among the signs of the Hour: speech will prevail, actions will be hidden, the wicked will be elevated, and the good will be lowered..."
