and Ibn Ḥibbān (5/238/3576) through other chains from al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn Yasār. I said: This is a good isnād. Abū Tamīmah—whose name is Ṭarīf ibn Mujālid al-Hujaymī—is trustworthy and among the men of al-Bukhārī. As for al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn Yasār, Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (4/462/2040): "I asked my father about him, and he said: There is no harm in him." It was mentioned about Ibn Maʿīn that he said: "The people of Baṣrah consider him weak." Others also considered him weak, as mentioned by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taʿjīl," but this is an unexplained criticism. Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (6/683), and a group of ḥadīth scholars like Wakīʿ, Abū Nuʿaym, and Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm narrated from him, among others. Such a person is relied upon, and the soul is at ease with his ḥadīth, especially since he has been corroborated. Al-Ṭayālisī said (513): Shuʿbah narrated to us from Qatādah from Abū Tamīmah with it mawqūf. He said: "Shuʿbah did not raise it, but Saʿīd did." Meaning: Ibn Abī ʿArūbah. Al-Bayhaqī also recorded it through the route of al-Ṭayālisī. He was corroborated, as Ibn Abī Shaybah said (3/78): Wakīʿ narrated to us from Shuʿbah with it.
