it is not known to be narrated except from Ḥudhayfah, and its isnād is good, and al-Ṣalt is well-known, and those after him are not questioned about their likes." I said: Whether it is this or that, the ḥadīth is good, if Allāh wills; because it has supporting evidence in general, including the ḥadīth of ʿUmar, raised [to the Prophet]: "The thing I fear most for my nation is every hypocrite with a sharp tongue." It was narrated by Aḥmad and others with a ṣaḥīḥ isnād from ʿUmar, and it was previously referenced (3/11/1013). It was also narrated by al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān" (2/284/777 1) with the wording: "... a hypocrite who speaks with wisdom but acts unjustly." And the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "If a man says to another man, 'O disbeliever!' then it will return to one of them; if it is as he said, otherwise, it returns to the other." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/44), Muslim, and others, and its referencing has passed under number (2891) in the sixth volume.
