and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt," and said: "He might sometimes disagree." This is what was mentioned in "al-Taʿjīl"! He missed the statement of Ibn Abī Ḥātim about his father: "Truthful." And what al-Khaṭīb narrated from Ibn Maʿīn: "There was nothing wrong with him." I say: the man is trustworthy, so his corroboration is strong. And the ḥadīth was attributed by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (10/475) to al-Bukhārī, and he indicated its strength by his silence on it. It has also been narrated through another chain from Abū Hurayrah, narrated by Kathīr ibn Zayd from al-Walīd ibn Rabāḥ from Abū Hurayrah, raised with the wording of the chapter. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī (6/68) in the biography of this Kathīr—who is al-Aslamī—and he said: "I saw nothing wrong with his ḥadīth, and I hope there is nothing wrong with him." And al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, but makes mistakes." Ibn Abī Shaybah narrated (8/558) with an authentic chain from ʿIkrimah who said: "The two-faced person is not likely to be trustworthy with Allāh." (تنبيه): لقد وهم الشيخ الجيلاني في شرحه على "الأدب المفرد" حين قال في حديث الترجمة:
