- (Allāh takes His heavens and earth in His hands, and says: I am Allāh—and He closes and opens His fingers—I am the King. [The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) swayed to his right and left] until I saw the pulpit moving from the bottom, so much so that I said: Is it going to fall with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)?). Narrated by Muslim (8/126-127), Ibn Khuzaymah in "Kitāb al-Tawḥīd" (49-50), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ wa-al-Ṣifāt" (339), all from Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr: Yaʿqūb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us: Abū Ḥāzim narrated to me from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Miqsam: that he saw ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar describing the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saying: ... and he mentioned it. Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd corroborated him: Yaʿqūb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us with it. Narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (9/213/728). Then it was narrated by Muslim and al-Bayhaqī through the route of Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr as well, who said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim narrated to us: My father narrated to me from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Miqsam from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar who said: I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on the pulpit saying: "The Compeller takes His heavens and earth in His hands..." the ḥadīth. A group corroborated him from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim with it. Narrated by Ibn Mājah (198 and 4275), al-Dārimī in "al-Radd ʿalá al-Marīsī" (p. 31), Ibn Jarīr in "al-Tafsīr" (24/18), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (12/355/13327), and Ibn Mandah in "Kitāb al-Tawḥīd" (2/47/190) and they added:
