"and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) leaned to his right and to his left, until I saw...". Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim. ʿAbd Allāh ibn Nāfiʿ differed with them in the isnād; he said: from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim from his father from ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar in a marfūʿ form. It was recorded by Ibn Jarīr. ʿAbd Allāh ibn Nāfiʿ is al-Ṣāʾigh al-Makhzūmī; he is considered weak due to his memory. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Trustworthy, accurate in writing, but lenient in memory." I said: He differed with them by mentioning ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr instead of ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Maqsim. ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr is al-Laythī al-Makkī, and he is also trustworthy, from the narrators of al-Bukhārī and Muslim. If his memory is reliable, then the isnād is authentic, and Allāh knows best. Then I found a strong corroboration for him with al-Ṭabarānī (12/389/13437), and Ibn Mandah (2/101/248) through the route of ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz: narrated to us al-Qaʿnabī [ʿAbd Allāh ibn Maslamah]: narrated to us ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim with it. Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ṭalḥah corroborated Abū Ḥāzim: from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Maqsim from Ibn ʿUmar: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) recited this verse one day on the pulpit: "They have not appraised Allāh with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be within His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him" (Sūrat al-Zumar, 67), and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was gesturing with his hand, moving it forward and backward, glorifying the Lord Himself: I am the Compeller, I am the Supreme, I am the Mighty, I am the Generous. Then the pulpit shook with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), until we said: It will collapse with him
