he would come and go together, may my father and mother be sacrificed for him, I have not seen anyone like him before or after him. Narrated by Ibn Saʿd (1/414-415). I said: The men of its isnād are trustworthy, except for ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Qudāmah; he is weak as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," but Ibn Maʿīn and Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr considered him reliable, so he can be used as supporting evidence, if Allāh wills. It was also narrated by al-Bazzār (3/122/2387) through the route of Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm al-Ḥimṣī: ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim from al-Zubaydī from al-Zuhrī from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib: that he heard Abū Hurayrah describing the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: he was a man of medium height, closer to tall, very white, with a black beard, beautiful hair, and long eyelashes... the ḥadīth without mentioning the waists. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from al-Zuhrī from Saʿīd from Abū Hurayrah except al-Zubaydī." I said: This isnād is authentic if it is free from Isḥāq al-Ḥimṣī; the ḥāfiẓ said: "He makes many mistakes, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAwf declared him a liar." The phrase "long eyelashes" was reported through a good route from Abū Hurayrah in another ḥadīth mentioned earlier under number (2095), which includes the statement: "he would come entirely, and go entirely." For this reason—and the aforementioned phrase—there is supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of ʿAlī from his routes in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/410-413), which includes: "I have not seen anyone like him before or after him." It is also in "Shamāʾil al-Tirmidhī" (15/4 - its abridgment), and authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2117 - Mawārid) through another route, and its extraction was also mentioned earlier under number (2053).
