and al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (7/220): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Bazzār, and the men of Aḥmad's narration are the men of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ', except for Kāmil ibn al-ʿAlāʾ, and he is reliable." I said: I have two comments on this: the first is that the isnād of al-Bazzār is the isnād of Aḥmad. The second is that Abū Ṣāliḥ is not among the men of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ'. Abū Ṣāliḥ was corroborated, as Saʿīd ibn Samʿān said: I heard Abū Hurayrah seeking refuge from the leadership of children and fools. Saʿīd ibn Samʿān said: Ibn Ḥasnah al-Juhanī informed me that he said to Abū Hurayrah: What is the sign of that? He said: "That family ties are severed, the misleader is obeyed, and the guide is disobeyed." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (66): ʿĀdam ibn Abī Iyyās told us, saying: Ibn Abī Dhiʾb told us, saying: Saʿīd ... with it. I said: Saʿīd ibn Samʿān is reliable; thus, his ḥadīth from Abū Hurayrah is authentic, and it is considered marfūʿ in status because it is not said based on mere opinion, as is apparent, and it is supported by the first path. Likewise, what Mālik ibn Ẓālim narrated: I heard Abū Hurayrah say to Marwān ibn al-Ḥakam: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: "The corruption of my nation will be at the hands of young men from the foolish of Quraysh." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (4/1/309), Ibn Ḥibbān in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/251/6678) and "al-Thiqāt" (5/388), al-Ḥākim (4/470 and 527), al-Ṭayālisī (825), and Aḥmad (2/299, 328, and 485), and al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him!
