and it was corroborated by Muʿāwiyah ibn Isḥāq from Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it in a brief, mursal form. Al-Nasāʾī also narrated it in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (4/108/6472/2), and it is likely from Muʿāwiyah ibn Isḥāq, for although he is among the narrators of al-Bukhārī, he has some errors, as indicated by al-Ḥāfiẓ who said: "Truthful, but sometimes errs." Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah was followed by Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Abū Hurayrah with a similar narration, with some brevity, and it includes his saying: "O Ṣafiyyah, aunt of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), I cannot avail you anything from Allāh." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (4771), Muslim, Abū ʿAwānah, Ibn Ḥibbān (8/173/6515), and al-Nasāʾī. They all recorded it—except al-Bukhārī—and al-Tirmidhī (7/72/2310 and 8/329/3184) from the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah in a brief form, which only includes the calling of Ṣafiyyah and Fāṭimah with the revelation of the verse, and added: "Ask me of my wealth whatever you wish." Al-Tirmidhī said: "ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." In the revelation of the verse: from Ibn ʿAbbās as well, and his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) calling to the Banū ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib and others, and in it the revelation of "Perish the hands of Abū Lahab, and perish he!" (Sūrah al-Masad, verse 1). It was recorded by the two Shaykhs, Abū ʿAwānah, Ibn Ḥibbān, and others, and al-Tirmidhī said (9/89/3360): "ḥadīth ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ."
