it is as if I see the Prophet recounting the story of a prophet from among the prophets who was struck by his people, causing him to bleed, while he wiped the blood from his face and said: "O Allāh, forgive..." [the ḥadīth]. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī, Muslim, Ibn Mājah, Aḥmad, and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" through various chains from al-Aʿmash, and Aḥmad added in a narration with the wording: "His people would strike him until he fell unconscious." Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. And it was narrated with the same isnād from Ibn Masʿūd who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) distributed some wealth, and a man said: This is a distribution by which the face of Allāh was not intended! He said: So I went to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and mentioned that to him, and his face turned red—Shuʿbah said: And I think he said: —and he became angry; until I wished I had not informed him—Shuʿbah said: And I think he said: "May Allāh have mercy on us and Mūsá—Shuʿbah doubted in "May Allāh have mercy on us and Mūsá"—he was harmed more than this and was patient." This does not contain doubt: "He was harmed more than that, and was patient." And it was recorded elsewhere without Shuʿbah's doubt. Likewise, it was recorded by al-Bukhārī through other chains from Shuʿbah. Similarly, it was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Bukhārī through the route of Sufyān from al-Aʿmash
كأني أنظر إلى النبي يحكي نبيّاً من الأنبياء ضربه قومه، فأدموه وهو يمسح الدم عن وجهه ويقول:"اللهم اغفر ... " الحديث. أخرجه البخاري، ومسلم، وا بن ماجه، وأحمد، وأبو نعيم في "أخبار أصبهان" من طرق عن الأعمش به، وزاد أحمد في رواية بلفظ:"كان قومه يضربونه حتى يُصرع". وإسنادها صحيح على شرط الشيخين. وساق بعدها بنفس الإسناد عن ابن مسعود قال:قسم رسول الله ﷺ قسماً، فقال رجل: إن هذه لقِسمةً ما أريدَ بها وجه الله! قال: فأتيت النبي ﷺ فذكرت ذلك له، فاحمر وجهه- قال شعبة: وأظنه قال: - وغضب؛ حتى وددت أني لم أخبره- قال شعبة: وأحسبه- قال: "يرحمنا الله وموسى- شك شعبة في "يرحمنا الله وموسى"- قد أوذي بأكثر من هذا فصبر". هذه ليس فيها شك: "قد أوذي بأكثر من ذلك، فصبر". وأخرجه في مكان آخر دون شك شعبة. وكذلك أخرجه البخاري من طرق أخرىعن شعبة به. وكذلك رواه أحمد، والبخاري من طريقسفيان عن الأعمش به.
