some of them, and they are of the same class, so attention should be paid to this and not to confuse them. As for the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Shikhkhīr, it is narrated by al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥakam ibn Ṭuhmān: Siyyār Abū al-Ḥakam said: I heard Muṭarrif ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Shikhkhīr narrating from his father in a summarized form with the wording: He used to say: "O Allāh, let me enjoy my hearing and my sight, and make them my inheritors." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (4/60/3195), and through him by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (58/83/2-84/1), and by al-Ṭabarānī as in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/178), who said: "In it is al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥakam ibn Ṭuhmān, who is weak, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy." I said: A group of trustworthy narrators reported from him, and Abū Ḥātim said about him: "He is very close to ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Khālid, and his ḥadīth is sound but not that much, as it is inconsistent." And Ibn al-ʿAlāʾ, Abū Ḥātim said about him: "Sound." Ibn ʿAdī listed for him (2/325) two well-known ḥadīths from other than his path, then said: "He has only a few ḥadīths, and the most objectionable I have seen from him is what I mentioned." Al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": "He was spoken about but not abandoned... Ibn ʿAdī listed for him two ḥadīths, but their texts are well-known." I said: Someone like him can be used as supporting evidence if his ḥadīth is not ḥasan, and this is indicated by al-Ḍiyāʾ including his ḥadīth in "al-Mukhtārah." And Allāh knows best
بعضهم، وهما من طبقة واحدة، فينبغي التنبه لذلك، وعدم الخلط بينهما. وأما حديث عبد الله بن الشِّخِّير؛ فيرويه الحسن بن الحكم بن طهمان: ثنا سيَّار أبو الحكم قال: سمعت مُطرِّف بن عبد الله بن الشِّخِّير يحدث عن أبيه به مختصراً بلفظ: كان يقول: "اللهم متعني بسمعي وبصري، واجعله الوارث مني ". أخرجه البزار (٤/٦٠ /٣١٩٥) ، ومن طريقه: الضياء في "المختارة" (٥٨/٨٣/٢- ٨٤/ ١) ، والطبراني كما في "المجمع " (١٠/١٧٨) ، وقال:"وفيه الحسن بن الحكم بن طهمان، وهو ضعيف، وبقية رجاله ثقات ". قلت: روى عنه جمع من الثقات، وقال فيه أبو حاتم:"ما أقربه من عبد الله بن العلاء بن خالد، وحديثه صالح ليس بذلك، يضطرب ". وابن العلاء هذا قال فيه أبو حاتم: "صالح ". وساق له ابن عدي (٢/٣٢٥) حديثين معروفين من غير طريقه، ثم قال:" ليس له من الحديث إلا القليل، وأنكر ما رأيت له ما ذكرته ". وقال الذهبي في "الميزان ":"تُكلِّم فيه ولم يُترك.. ساق له ابن عدي حديثين، لكنهما معروفا المتن ". قلت: فمثله يستشهد به إن لم يكن حسن الحديث، وعلى هذا يدل إخراج الضياء لحديثه في "المختارة". والله أعلم.
