this stubborn denier?! Except that I warn him with the words of Allāh: "And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers, We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination." *

- "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) gave me some dates, so I placed them in a basket of ours and hung it from the ceiling of the house. We continued to eat from it until the people of Syria attacked Medina and it was depleted." It was recorded by Aḥmad in "al-Musnad" (2/324): Abū ʿĀmir narrated to us: Ismāʿīl narrated to us—meaning: Ibn Muslim—from Abū al-Mutawakkil from Abū Hurayrah who said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic, all its narrators are trustworthy according to Muslim's standards, and Abū ʿĀmir is ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿAmr al-Qaysī al-ʿAqadī. And Abū al-Mutawakkil: his name is ʿAlī ibn Dāwūd al-Nājī, unanimously trustworthy, and both Shaykhs and others have relied upon him. They have mentioned his narration from a group of Companions other than Abū Hurayrah, who died in the year (59); such as ʿĀʾishah—may Allāh be pleased with her, and she died two years before him, not to mention others whose deaths were later, like Ibn ʿAbbās, Jābir, and Umm Salamah—may Allāh be pleased with them all. Al-Tirmidhī narrated a ḥadīth from him about ʿĀʾishah with the wording: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood with a verse from the Quran," then he said (2/100/448): "A good and rare ḥadīth from this perspective." This means—in his terminology—that it is strong in itself, as is not hidden from those familiar with his book, as al-Nasāʾī also narrated for him in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" (531-532) another ḥadīth
