(1 It was narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah through the route of ʿAbd al-Razzāq, and this is in "al-Muṣannaf" (9/175/16814) where he said: Maʿmar informed us from al-Zuhrī with it. And through the route of ʿAbd al-Razzāq: it was narrated by Aḥmad (3/451), and Ibn al-Jārūd in "al-Muntaqá" (31/931). Ibn Kathīr said in "al-Tafsīr" after attributing it to Aḥmad: "Its isnād is authentic, and the anonymity of the Companion does not harm it." I said: It is as he said; except that Maʿmar was contradicted by a group of trustworthy narrators who reported it as mursal: Mālik narrated it (2/6), and Yūnus ibn Yazīd from Ibn Shihāb from ʿUbayd Allāh: that a man from the Anṣār came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... the ḥadīth is similar. It was narrated by al-Bayhaqī (7/388 and 10/57), and he said: "This is mursal, and it has been said: from ʿAwn ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah Abū Hurayrah—may Allāh be pleased with him. And it has been said: from ʿAwn from his father from his grandfather." I said: al-Ḥākim connected it (3/258) and from him al-Bayhaqī in the first place, and likewise

(١أخرجه ابن خزيمة من طريق عبد الرزاق، وهذا في "المصنف " (٩/١٧٥/ ١٦٨١٤) قال: أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري به. ومن طريق عبد الرزاق: أخرجه أحمد (٣/ ٤٥١) ، وابن الجارود في "المنتقى" ٣١/ ٩٣١) . وقال ابن كثير في "التفسير" بعد أن عزاه لأحمد:"وإسناده صحيح، وجهالة الصحابي لا تضره ". قلت: وهو كما قال؛ لولا أن معمراً خالفه جماعة من الثقات فأرسلوه: فرواه مالك (٢/٦) ، ويونس بن يزيد عن ابن شهاب عن عبيد الله: أن رجلاً من الأنصار أتى النبي ﷺ ... الحديث مثله. أخرجه البيهقي (٧/٣٨٨ و١٠/٥٧) ، وقال:"هذا مرسل، وقد قيل: عن عون بن عبيد الله بن عتبة عن عبيد الله بن عتبة أبي هريرة- ﵁. وقد قيل: عن عون عن أبيه عن جده ". قلت: وصله الحاكم (٣/٢٥٨) وعنه البيهقي في الموضع الأول، وكذا
