Muṣʿab ibn Saʿīd al-Miṣṣīṣī said: ʿĪsá ibn Yūnus narrated to us from ʿAwf al-Aʿrābī from Thumāmah from Anas who said: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by the neighborhood of Banū al-Najjār, and there were girls playing the drum, saying: "We are girls from Banū al-Najjār, how delightful is Muḥammad as a neighbor." The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from ʿAwf except ʿĪsá, and Muṣʿab ibn Saʿīd was the only one to narrate it." I said: He is truthful, as Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (4/1/309) from his father. Ibn Ḥibbān also deemed him reliable in "al-Thiqāt" (9/175), and said: "He might make mistakes, but his ḥadīth is considered if he narrates from reliable narrators and clarifies hearing, because he was a mudallis." I said: He has explicitly stated hearing, as you see, and those above him are reliable narrators from the two Shaykhs, so the isnād is ḥasan, even though Ibn ʿAdī criticized this al-Miṣṣīṣī, and al-Dhahabī included him in "al-Mīzān," followed by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Lisān," but they missed Abū Ḥātim's statement about him: "Truthful!" Furthermore, he was not the only one to narrate it, contrary to al-Ṭabarānī's statement; Ibn Mājah said (1/612/1899): Hishām ibn ʿAmmār narrated to us: ʿĪsá ibn Yūnus narrated it, and his wording was: "Allāh knows that I love you." al-Būṣīrī said: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ, and its men are reliable." I said: It can be said that it is ṣaḥīḥ due to other supporting evidence; due to al-Miṣṣīṣī's corroboration of it; given the known disagreement regarding Hishām ibn ʿAmmār; even though he is among al-Bukhārī's shaykhs in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ" and relied upon
مصعب بن سعيد المِصِّيصي قال: حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن عوف الأعرابي عن ثُمَامة عن أنس قال:مرَّ رسول الله ﷺ بحيِّ بني النجار، وإذا جوارٍ يضربن بالدف، يقلن:نحن جوارٍ من بني النجارِ يا حبَّذا محمدٌ من جارِفقال النبي ﷺ: ... فذكره. وقال الطبراني:"لم يروه عن عوف إلا عيسى، تفرد به مصعب بن سعيد". قلت: وهو صدوق، كما قال ابن أبي حاتم (٤/١/٣٠٩) عن أبيه.وقد وثقه ابن حبان في "الثقات " (٩/١٧٥) ، وقال:"ربما أخطأ، يُعتبر حديثه إذا روى عن الثقات وبيَّن السماع؛ لأنه كان مدلِّساً ". قلت: قد صرح بالسماع كما ترى، ومن فوقه ثقات من رجال الشيخين، فالإسناد حسن، وإن كان ابن عدي قد تكلم في المصيصي هذا، فأورده الذهبي في "الميزان "، وتبعه الحافظ في "اللسان "، وقد فاتهما قول أبي حاتم فيه: "صدوق "! ثم إنه لم يتفرد به: خلافاً لقول الطبراني؛ فقال ابن ماجه (١/٦١٢/١٨٩٩) : حدثنا هشام بن عمار: ثنا عيسى بن يونس به، ولفظه:"الله يعْلَمُ أني لأحِبُّكُنُّ ". وقال البوصيري:"إسناده صحيح، ورجاله ثقات ". قلت: يمكن أن يقال: إنه صحيح لغيره؛ لمتابعة المصيصي إياه؛ للخلاف المعروف في هشام بن عمار؛ مع أنه من شيوخ البخاري في "صحيحه" محتجّاً به،
