the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "I think he raised it." I do not know whether it is in the isnād of the ḥadīth in his copy of "al-Bayhaqī," or if it is an addition from his opinion?! He said afterward: "It was narrated by al-Bayhaqī, and its isnād is good, if Allāh wills." (Note): al-Haythamī did not include the ḥadīth from the narration of Abū Yaʿlá because it is not in his abridged "Musnad." Rather, I derived its isnād from "al-Maṭālib al-ʿĀliyah" from the manuscript with isnāds (folio 20/1) by al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar, and it is in the printed "al-Maṭālib al-ʿĀliyah" without isnāds (1/138/504). Then I saw in the biography of (Ḥabīb al-Kalāʿī Abū Ḍumrah) in "al-Iṣābah" by al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar, he mentioned the ḥadīth of the biography from the narration of Ibn al-Sakan from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ḍumrah ibn Ḥabīb from his father from his grandfather as marfūʿ, and Ibn al-Sakan said: "I did not find any mention of (Ḥabīb) except in this ḥadīth," and Ibn Ḥajar confirmed it. I said: The narration of ʿAbd al-Razzāq at the beginning of this extraction clarifies that the ḥadīth belongs to Ḍumrah ibn Ḥabīb, who narrated it from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). Thus, his father (Ḥabīb) has no connection to this ḥadīth, and the statement of (ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ḍumrah): "from his grandfather" is an insertion by this ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, as he is unknown and not recognized, and he is not mentioned at all in the books of men, not even in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān"! Perhaps this is what al-Munāwī noted in "Fayḍ al-Qadīr" when he asserted that (Ḍumrah) in the ḥadīth of (Ibn al-Sakan):
