and it escaped him—may Allāh have mercy on him—that it is in the narration of Muḥammad ibn al-Mubārak al-Ṣūrī who said: Ṣadaqah ibn Khālid narrated to us... he transmitted it with its isnād and matn, and it includes both additions. It was recorded by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad in "Faḍāʾil al-Ṣaḥābah" (1/240/297), and by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (9/303-304) without the second addition, and its isnād is authentic, its narrators are trustworthy. ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūsuf also corroborated it: Ṣadaqah narrated to us with it. It was also recorded by Abū Nuʿaym. Then al-Bukhārī recorded it (4640) with another isnād from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Zabr who said: Bishr ibn ʿUbayd Allāh narrated to me with it similarly, and it includes the first addition with some rearrangement, and Abū ʿAbd Allāh—meaning al-Bukhārī—said after the ḥadīth: "Ghamir: he preceded in goodness." (Note): The phrase of affirmation and consolation has also been narrated in praise of Khadījah from the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah, but its isnād is weak; therefore, I included it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (6224). (Benefit) It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (9/4-5) through the route of Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān: Abū Usāmah narrated to us from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah who said: Abū Bakr—may Allāh have mercy on him—spent forty thousand on the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I say: Its narrators are trustworthy; except for Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān—who is al-Nashīṭī—and he is weak; as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," and this is confirmed by the fact that Ibn Saʿd contradicted him in "al-Ṭabaqāt"; he said (3/172): Abū Usāmah Ḥammād ibn Usāmah narrated to us with it.
