and Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd explicitly stated that he heard [the ḥadīth]; thus, we are safe from the harm of his tadlīs. Then al-Ājurī narrated it through the path of Abū Anas Mālik ibn Sulaymān al-Ḥimṣī, who said: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd narrated to us from Arṭāh ibn al-Mundhir with it. And this Mālik ibn Sulaymān was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in his narration from Baqiyyah; he did not mention any criticism or endorsement of him, but he said: "Abū Zurʿah narrated from him." And it is known about Abū Zurʿah that he only narrates from trustworthy individuals, and Allāh knows best. The ḥadīth has various supporting evidences that increase its strength: Firstly, the section on the creation of the pen, among its supporting evidences is the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās mentioned earlier as number (133), and the ḥadīth of ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit, which I had extracted through various paths in the commentary on "al-Mishkāt" (1/34/94). Secondly, his statement: "Both His hands are right," has been mentioned in the ḥadīth: "The just will be with Allāh on the Day of Resurrection on pulpits of light on the right of the Most Merciful, and both His hands are right..." It was narrated by Muslim and others, and it is extracted in "Ādāb al-Zafāf" (281). It was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (1538), al-Ājurī, and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ" (p. 354) from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAmr. It has a second supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet]: "When Allāh created Adam and breathed into him the soul, he sneezed..." the ḥadīth, and it includes the mention of the two groups, and His saying to Adam:
وبقية بن الوليد قد صرح بالتحديث؛ فأمنا بذلك شر تدليسه. ثم أخرجه الآجري من طريق أبي أنس مالك بن سليمان الحمصي قال: حدثنا بقية بن الوليد عن أرطاة بن المنذر به. ومالك بن سليمان هذا، ذكره ابن أبي حاتم بروايته عن بقية؛ ولم يذكر فيه جرحاً ولا تعديلاً، ولكنه قال:"روى عنه أبو زرعة ". ومن المعروف عن أبي زرعة أنه لا يروي إلا عن ثقة، والله أعلم. وللحديث شواهد متفرقة تزيده قوة على قوة: أولاً: فقرة خلق القلم، فمن شواهده حديث ابن عباس المتقدم برقم (١٣٣) ، وحديث عبادة بن الصامت الذي كنت خرجته من طرق عنه في التعليق على "المشكاة" (١/٣٤/٩٤) . ثانياً: قوله: "وكلتا يديه يمين "، قد جاء في حديث: "المقسطون عند الله يوم القيامة على منابر من نور على يمين الرحمن وكلتا يديه يمين.. ". رواه مسلم وغيره، وهو مخرج في "آداب الزفاف " (٢٨١) . وقد رواه أيضاً ابن حبان (١٥٣٨) ، والآجري، والبيهقي في "الأسماء" (ص ٣٥٤) من حديث ابن عمرو. وله شاهد ثان من حديث أبي هريرة مرفوعاً:"لما خلق الله آدم ونفخ فيه الروح عطس ... " الحديث، وفيه ذكر القبضتين، وقوله تعالى لآدم:
