As for deliverance from the plots of plotters, the envy of the envious, and the slander of slanderers; there is no way to it except by dying upon faith, if Allāh wills. How excellent is what has been said: "You will not escape the words of a slanderer even if you were in a cave on a rugged mountain. And who is there that escapes from people unharmed even if he were hidden from them between the wings of an eagle?" *The reason for the prohibition of a man traveling alone
وأما الخلاص من كيد الكائدين، وحسد الحاسدين، وطعن الطاعنين؛ فلا سبيل إليه إلا بالوفاة على الإيمان إن شاء الله تعالى. وما أحسن ما قيل:ولست بناجٍ من مقالة طاعن ولو كنت في غارٍ على جبل وَعْرِومن ذا الذي ينجو من الناس سالماً ولو غاب عنهم بين خافِيَتَيْ نَسْرِ *سبب النهي عن سفر الرجل وحده
- A man left (Khaybar), and two men followed him, while another was calling after them, saying: "Return, return," until he made them turn back. Then he caught up with the first man and said: "These two are devils, and I did not cease with them until I made them return. When you reach the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), convey to him my greetings and inform him that we are here collecting our alms, and if it were permissible for him, we would have sent it to him." He said: When the man arrived in Medina, he informed the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and at that point, the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prohibited being alone. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (2/102) and Aḥmad (1/278 and 299) through various chains from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAmr al-Raqqī from ʿAbd al-Karīm from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said ... and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is authentic according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and al-Ḥāfiẓ strengthened it in "al-Fatḥ" (6/345) by his silence on it, and he explained (being alone) by saying: "That is, traveling alone," as the context indicates. *
- (خرجَ رجلٌ من (خيبرَ) ، فاتبَعه رجلان، وآخرُ يتلوهما يقول: ارجعا ارجعا، حتَّى ردَّهما، ثم لحق الأول، فقال:إنَّ هذينِ شيطانانِ، وإنِّي لمْ أزلْ بهما حتى رددتهما، فإذا أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فأَقرئه السلامَ، وأخبره أنَّا ههنا في جمع صدقاتنا، ولو كانت تصلحُ له لبَعَثْنَا بها إليه. قال: فلمَّا قدمَ الرجلُ المدينةَ أخبرَ النبيَّ ﷺ، فعند ذلك نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الخَلْوةِ) . أخرجه الحاكم (٢/١٠٢) ، وأحمد (١/٢٧٨ و ٢٩٩) من طرق عن عبيد الله ابن عمرو الرَّقِّي عن عبد الكريم عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس ﵄ قال ... فذكره. وقال الحاكم:"صحيح الإسناد على شرط البخاري ". ووافقه الذهبي، وقواه الحافظ في " الفتح " (٦/٣٤٥) بسكوته عنه، وفسر (الخلوة) بقوله:"أي: السفر وحده " كما يدل عليه السياق. *
