but this al-Nīsābūrī is accused. The ḥāfiẓ said: "Abandoned despite his knowledge; because he was prone to being prompted, and Ibn Maʿīn labeled him a liar." Ibn Lahīʿah was followed by Ḥaywah from ʿUqayl with it. Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned it in "al-ʿIlal" (2/45) from the narration of Hishām ibn ʿAmmār from Shuʿayb ibn Isḥāq from Ḥaywah. And this Ḥaywah is Ibn Sharīḥ, the trustworthy Egyptian. But Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned from his father that the correct version is: from al-Zuhrī from Ibn ʿUmar without Sālim. So he said! And he did not mention the evidence for that. It was narrated by Marwān ibn Muḥammad: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us: Qurrāh ibn Ḥaywaʾīl told me from al-Zuhrī from Sālim with it. It was also recorded by Ibn Mājah. Ibn Lahīʿah was contradicted by Ibn Wahb, who said: Qurrāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Maʿāfirī informed me from Ibn Shihāb that ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) said... and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī (9/280). This is more authentic than the narration of Ibn Lahīʿah from Qurrāh, and it seems for this reason Abū Ḥātim authenticated it as mentioned earlier. But this does not undermine the narration of Qutaybah from Ibn Lahīʿah from ʿUqayl as previously explained. I have found a follower narrating it; al-Ḥusayn ibn Sayyār: Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from Sālim from his father with it
