he said this: and there are two issues: the first is his assertion of al-Dalānī's trustworthiness, and you have come to know what is said about that. The second is that he missed that the other chain from the Ḥarrānīs is more authentic than al-Dalānī's chain, as has been clarified from what we mentioned. It is the one that al-Mundhirī confirmed as authentic, and Ibn al-Qayyim deemed good, and I do not know why he did not authenticate it, considering that al-Ṭabarānī also narrated it immediately after his narration from al-Dalānī. Abū Ṭaybah differed with them regarding the isnād of the two chains, saying: from Kurz ibn Wabarah from Nuʿaym ibn Abī Hind from Abū ʿUbaydah ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd with it at length, with the wording: "The people will stand before the Lord of the worlds for forty years, their eyes staring." the ḥadīth, and it includes the second wording that is in the chain of al-Dalānī and the Ḥarrānī. It was narrated by al-Sahmī in "Tārīkh Jurjān" (350-354) in full, and al-Ṭabarānī (9764) after the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī Anīsah, but he only mentioned a portion from the beginning, and likewise Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (5/258) in the biography of Abū Ṭaybah—whose name is ʿĪsá ibn Sulaymān al-Jurjānī—and al-Ṭabarānī said after it: "Then he mentioned something similar to the ḥadīth of Zayd ibn Abī Anīsah." I said: And this Abū Ṭaybah, Ibn ʿAdī said—having narrated this ḥadīth for him along with other ḥadīths—"And all these ḥadīths are not preserved, and Abū Ṭaybah is a righteous man, and I do not think he deliberately lied, but perhaps he was confused and made mistakes."
