I said: It seems to me that it appeared to him that "ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ruzayq" is an error, and that the correct version is "Ruzayq Abū ʿAbd Allāh" as mentioned by al-Khaṭīb, and that Ibn Ḥibbān deemed him trustworthy, so he relied on him as usual, and Allāh knows best. The extraction of this part of the ḥadīth and the discussion on it has already been mentioned under ḥadīth (2394) of this book. This; and most segments of the ḥadīth have supporting evidence confirming its authenticity: Firstly, reclining, Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī Mulaykah said on the authority of Ibn Abī Ihāb [from his father] that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, or: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade us from eating while reclining. It was extracted by al-Bazzār (3/331/2870 - Kashf al-Astār); and what is between the brackets was omitted, and I retrieved it from "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (5/24), and he said: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār from the narration of Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī Mulaykah, and I did not know this Muḥammad, and the rest of its men are trustworthy." So he said! And this Muḥammad was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in his book (4/1/3), and he narrated from Ibn Maʿīn that he said: "Weak." Al-Dhahabī relied on him in "al-Mīzān" and said: "Ibn Maʿīn deemed him weak, and he narrated little." Al-Ḥāfiẓ agreed with him in "al-Lisān." Al-Dhahabī also mentioned him in "Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh" in a larger context, and said:
