(Do not eat while reclining, nor on a sieve, and do not make the mosque a place of prayer where you only pray there, and do not step over people's necks on Friday; lest Allāh make you a bridge for them on the Day of Resurrection). Narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (13/391), he said: Abū al-Ḥasan ibn Rizqawayh narrated to us: Abū al-ʿAbbās ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Aḥmad ibn Ḥammād al-ʿAskarī narrated to us—dictated—in the year three hundred and thirty-eight: Ayyūb ibn Sulaymān al-Ṣughdi narrated to us: Abū al-Yamān narrated to us: Arṭāh ibn al-Mundhir from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ruzayq al-Alhānī from ʿAmr ibn al-Aswad al-ʿAnsī from Abū al-Dardāʾ who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said... and he mentioned it. And he said: "The Khaṭīb said: This is how Abū al-Yamān named and attributed him; he erred in that, and the correct [name] is Ruzayq Abū ʿAbd Allāh, as mentioned by Abū Mushir ʿAbd al-Aʿlá ibn Mushir, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Bukhārī, and Abū Ḥātim al-Rāzī." I said: And likewise Ibn Ḥibbān in his two books: "al-Thiqāt" (4/239), and "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (1/301), and that is from his contradiction! The first is more likely; due to the statement of Ibn Abī Ḥātim (1/2/505): "Abū Zurʿah was asked about him? He said: A Damascene, there is no harm in him." Therefore, al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mughnī": "Truthful, Ibn Ḥibbān said: He is not to be relied upon." And in "al-Mīzān" he combined Ibn Ḥibbān's statement with Abū Zurʿah's, and he missed that he is in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān." And al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, but has errors."
