(Note): Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm, the teacher of al-Ṭabarānī in this ḥadīth, is al-Dībājī al-Tustarī, and I have not found a biography for him now, but it appears to me that he is one of his well-known teachers, as he narrated about twenty ḥadīths from him in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/148/2-150/1), and the continuation of his ḥadīth can be seen in the indicated place in "al-Targhīb." Furthermore, the latter part of the ḥadīth has two witnesses from the ḥadīth of Anas and Abū Hurayrah - in which there is some objection - with two weak isnāds, which I have documented in the other book under number (6107). *

(When he would retire to his bed every night, he would gather his hands, then blow into them, and recite into them (Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One") and (Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak") and (Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind"), then he would wipe over as much of his body as he could with them, starting with his head and face, and the front of his body, doing this three times). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (5017), Abū Dāwūd (5056), al-Tirmidhī in "al-Sunan" (3399) and "al-Shamāʾil" - Chapter on what is reported about his sleep ﷺ number (218 - abridged), al-Nasāʾī in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" (788), and through him: Ibn al-Sunnī in "ʿAmalihi" (691), Ibn Ḥibbān in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (5519 - al-Iḥsān), and Aḥmad (6/16) through the chain of al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Faḍālah from ʿUqayl from Ibn Shihāb from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah: that the Prophet ﷺ used to... the ḥadīth. And this ʿUqayl is Ibn Khālid ibn ʿAqīl al-Aylī, a reliable and firm narrator; as al-Ḥāfiẓ said. Al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Faḍālah is al-Qutbānī al-Miṣrī, the judge, and al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "A trustworthy, virtuous worshiper, Ibn Saʿd erred in weakening him."
